Ukraine’s Long-Range Missiles Could Disrupt Russia and North Korea Operations
A US decision to let Ukraine use long-range missiles on Russian territory could affect how North Korea behaves. Valerii Riabykh, a Ukrainian military expert, thinks so.
According to Riabykh, if Ukraine targets North Korean units in Kursk Oblast, it might make the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, think twice about sending more troops to Russia.
Riabykh says Ukraine could use these missiles on the Kursk front. This is because Russian forces are trying to push Ukrainian troops out of Kursk Oblast and are using North Korean units for this purpose.
He believes that if most North Korean units in Kursk Oblast were “neutralized” with ATACMS, Kim Jong-Un might reconsider sending more troops. Riabykh thinks the North Korean leader wants his troops to return home with experience, not as casualties.
Riabykh also notes that there are hundreds of other targets within range of the missiles that Ukraine needs to hit to effectively impact the battlefield situation.
The US has not officially confirmed or denied a report by Axios that Ukraine was allowed to strike deep inside Russia.
