Donald Trump‘s Team Views Three Seas Initiative as Crucial
President–elect Donald Trump considers the Three Seas Initiative very important. Filip Styczynski, an expert from Washington, D.C., agrees with him.
“The initiative really took off during Trump’s time in office,” Styczynski said. Poland started receiving liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US to diversify its energy sources.
According to Styczynski, Republicans are willing to work together with Central and Eastern Europe. He believes that Ukraine should focus on business and energy issues when talking to Trump.
“It’s a big deal for the stability and security of our region,” he said. The Three Seas Initiative involves 12 European countries bordering the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic Seas.
During Trump’s presidency, his team pushed for the initiative as a way to reduce dependence on Russian gas. American LNG was seen as a solution.
