Estonia to Help Ukraine Fight Russian Drones
Ukraine will soon get new air defense missiles from Estonia. These missiles are small and can be produced in large numbers, making them effective against Russian drones.
The Estonian company Frankenburg Technologies is making these missiles. They will start testing them in Ukraine next year. If the tests go well, the missiles could help protect Ukraine from Russian aerial threats.
Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of Defense Express, says the new missiles will be very helpful for Ukraine’s air defense forces. He thinks they will make it easier to fight against Russian drones.
The missiles are designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and can hit targets up to two kilometers high. They are also inexpensive and use precision targeting software.
Katkov says producing these missiles is efficient because of their small size. This makes it possible for Frankenburg Technologies to produce hundreds of them per week by the third quarter of 2025.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has already reported that the first missile samples will arrive in Ukraine by the end of 2024.
