**Slovak Prime Minister Criticizes US Decision on Ukraine**
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, has spoken out against the US decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range missiles. In a statement on Facebook, Fico said that this decision was an “unprecedented escalation of tension”.
The US had previously announced that it would allow Ukraine to use its ATACMS missiles to target Russian and North Korean forces in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. However, some reports suggest that the US also intends to disrupt peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
Fico has instructed Slovakia’s Foreign Minister and Defense Minister not to support this decision in any international forum. He believes that those who want to continue the war in Ukraine are harming national and state interests.
**Concerns from Moscow**
The Kremlin has also spoken out against the US decision, with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov saying that it intends to provoke an escalation of the war. Some Russian lawmakers have even gone so far as to say that this could lead to World War III.
Russia has repeatedly warned about its “red lines” on Western assistance for Ukraine, and has even made veiled nuclear threats. President Vladimir Putin has previously said that long-range strikes against Russia would mean NATO’s involvement in the war, and Moscow is preparing various responses to such a step.
