Elections were on October 26 in the of . The elections were for the region’s 21-member legislative assembly, which is known as the .

Five parties received enough votes to be part of the assembly. They are: Coalition (8.4%), -UNM (14.26%), Strong Georgia (6.32%), Gakharia- (8.63%), and Georgian Dream (.45%).

The biggest winner was Georgian Dream, which got 13 seats in the assembly. Other winners included Unity-UNM with 4 seats, Gakharia-For Georgia with 2 seats, and Coalition for Change with seat.

Some of the assembly are: Davit Gabaidze from Georgian Dream, Elguja Bagrationi from Unity-UNM, and Genadi Tebidze from Strong Georgia. The rest of the assembly members were also elected from these parties.

However, not everyone is happy with the results. There have been protests in Batumi, the capital of Adjara, against what protesters call rigged elections. Students at the local university have also been protesting for five nights.
