A fire in southeast Moscow was caused by a drone attack allegedly carried out on the Higher Combined Arms Command School of Moscow.
According to a report by the Russian Telegram channel SOTA, a drone attack on Moscow’s Higher Combined Arms Command School led to a fire early in the morning of 6 October. Residents reported hearing a loud boom and sounds that sounded like gunfire.
In recent months, Ukraine has increasingly targeted strategic Russian assets, thereby expanding the geographic scope of the conflict. These attacks are designed to disrupt Russia’s infrastructure and military capabilities, which could impact its ability to maintain operations in Ukraine. Drones are now a key part of Ukraine’s strategy in the ongoing Russo Ukrainian war.
SOTA shared video footage of a fire near the military academy, located in Kuzminki Park. According to reports, the area around the school is also home to a shooting range and gas station.
Militarnyi reports that the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School, also known as the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School, is considered to be one of Russia’s oldest military educational institutions. Since 2015, the school has been providing higher military-special training for command personnel of mechanized troops and ground units of the Russian Armed Forces.
This incident is part a campaign of long-range attacks by Ukraine on Russian soil over the last few months. These operations often involve the simultaneous launch of dozens drones at strategic targets such as air bases, oil storage sites, ammunition depots and military installations.
These long-range drone attacks are coordinated by secretive intelligence services. In a single operation, dozens or drones can be launched against a single target. Attacks are usually carried out at night.
