**Parliament Committee Supports Foreign Agents Law**
A committee in the Georgian Parliament has approved a new law that requires foreign agents to register with the government. The law was proposed by two factions, Georgian Dream and People’s Power.
The law defines what it means for someone or something to be an agent of a foreign power. It also outlines rules for registering as such an agent, making sure this information is public, and requiring annual financial reports from registered agents.
If someone tries to avoid registration or doesn’t follow the rules, they could face criminal charges. The government will also monitor activities to make sure everyone is following the new law.
The committee’s approval is just the first step in passing the law. It still needs to be voted on by the full Parliament before it can take effect.
