The death toll in the floods that occurred last week in Germany and Belgium is now 188. Heavy rains inundated cities across Europe and thousands of people are missing.
Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands are also affected, along with Germany, Belgium and France.
“At this point, it is known that at least 188 people have died as a result of the flooding in Germany and Belgium.
“Heavy rain continues to cause havoc. Attention is now being focused on parts of Austria and south Germany.
“Emergency crews saved people from their homes in the Austrian Region of Salzburg where floodwaters submerged streets of a town. The fire brigade reported that the capital Vienna experienced more rain in one hour on Saturday than it had in the previous seven week.
BBC reports that heavy rains in Upper Bavaria caused basements and roads to flood.
