**Ukraine Assembling Team to Monitor Ceasefire**
Ukraine has started forming a team to develop ways to monitor a possible 30-day ceasefire. The announcement was made by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on March 14.
The team will be responsible for creating processes to ensure that the ceasefire is properly enforced. However, Sybiha warned that this process would be complex and challenging due to Ukraine’s long front line of over 1,300 kilometers (800 miles).
**Ceasefire Discussions**
Ukraine agreed to a possible truce with Russia during talks in Jeddah on March 11. The agreement was made contingent on Russia’s adherence to the ceasefire. As part of the talks, Washington also resumed military and intelligence support for Ukraine.
**Russia’s Response**
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow is prepared to accept the ceasefire but demanded that Ukraine halt its mobilization, military training, and foreign military aid deliveries during the truce. US former president Donald Trump called Putin’s remarks “very promising” but noted that they were not complete.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Putin’s response as “manipulative,” warning that Russia is preparing to reject the ceasefire. Zelensky stated that Ukraine has heard predictable and manipulative words from Putin, and he believes Russia is already planning to reject the truce.
**Russian Signals**
Russia has sent signals to Trump regarding the ceasefire through special envoy Steve Witkoff, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on March 14.
