Czech Senate Urges Action in Georgia.
The Czech Senate‘s Foreign Affairs Committee has made a request to the government. They want new elections held in Georgia and for all political prisoners to be released.
The committee is concerned about the situation in Georgia. There have been protests, unfair elections, growing repression, and human rights violations. They say these are reasons why new elections should be called.
The Czech Senate also wants the government of the Czech Republic to take several actions. These include:
* Demanding new parliamentary elections in Georgia
* Releasing all political prisoners
* Stopping investigations against them
* Restoring freedom of assembly and expression
* Repealing laws that limit media, civil society, and public servants
Additionally, the committee wants an investigation into police, court, and prosecutor misconduct. They also want a list of people who have helped the ruling party seize power to be expanded.
Finally, they suggest expanding sanctions to include owners and creators of propaganda content.
