New Rules for Broadcasting Companies in Georgia
Broadcasting companies in Georgia will soon have new rules to follow. They will no longer be allowed to get money or benefits from foreign forces.
This change is part of a law that governs broadcasting in the country. The new rule says that foreign forces cannot give money directly or indirectly to broadcasters, nor can they own any property or goods that are worth something.
In addition, foreign forces won’t be able to pay for services from broadcasters. They also won’t be allowed to fund or help pay for making and showing programs on TV or radio.
Another new rule will prevent broadcasters from getting money in exchange for putting up social ads on their platforms.
These changes were proposed by two parties, Georgian Dream and People’s Power, and have already been sent to Parliament.
