As the elections draw near, Mamuka Mdinaradze, a leader of the “Georgian Dream” party, spoke out about the increasing interference from outside forces in the country’s political landscape. He noted that critical statements, resolutions, sanctions, threats, and attempts to sway Georgian voters have all intensified in the lead up to the election.
According to Mdinaradze, these outside forces have their sights set on gaining power and securing their own financial interests, even if it means resorting to tactics that could lead to conflict and war. He extended a warm welcome to all residents of Kvemo Kartli, Rustavi, Gardabani, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Tetritskaro, and Tsalka, regardless of their ethnicity, and emphasized the importance of unity in the face of this unequal struggle.
On one side, Mdinaradze described the forces that see Georgia as nothing more than a pawn in their global interests. On the other side are the Georgian Dream party and the Georgian people, who are proud, dignified, and courageous citizens with a strong sense of homeland. They have made it clear that decisions about Georgia and its people will be made within the country, including the issue of unification and any necessary steps towards it.
Mdinaradze also highlighted the power of truth and dignity in the face of disinformation, citing the successful defeat of a false and fascist campaign against a crucial Georgian law. However, as the elections draw closer, he warned that the attempts to interfere and influence Georgian voters will only increase. Despite this, he urged the people to stand strong and use their most powerful weapons – truth and dignity – to protect their country and their rights.
