**Georgia’s New Minister of Foreign Affairs Outlines Vision**
Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia’s new minister of foreign affairs, has outlined her vision for the country‘s foreign policy. She aims to have Georgia join the EU by 2030 and improve relations with strategic partners like the US.
At a joint hearing of parliamentary committees, Botchorishvili spoke about Georgia’s priorities over the next four years. These include restoring territorial integrity, integrating into European structures, and deepening relations with international partners.
Botchorishvili emphasized the importance of EU integration, citing Article 78 of the Constitution. She said that if the EU expands by 2030, Georgia will be ready to join. The ministerial candidate also promised to work closely with the European Commission to achieve this goal.
In her address, Botchorishvilli highlighted the need for constructive dialogue and approaches between partners. She mentioned the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with international organizations and key global partners.
**Focusing on EU Integration**
The notable focus of Botchorishvili’s speech was on EU integration, which is a major foreign policy issue in Georgia. The ministerial candidate cited progress made over the past 10 years, selfless struggle to gain political support from partners, and the unwavering will of the Georgian people.

**Resetting Relations with the US**
Botchorishvili also addressed the issue of resetting relations with the United States. She emphasized the importance of restoring equal relations based on justice and mutual interests. The ministerial candidate promised to deepen cooperation in all areas, including trade, economic, and security issues.
**A Balanced Neighborhood Policy**
The ministerial candidate promised a balanced neighborhood policy that would prioritize protecting territorial integrity, sovereignty, good neighborliness, strengthening security, and promoting peace and stability in the region.
Botchorishvili also highlighted opportunities for deepening strategic relations with key partners like China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. She emphasized the importance of Georgia’s trilateral cooperation and promised to deepen relations with Armenia.
