**UK Not Sending Troops to Ukraine**
The UK will not send its military personnel to Ukraine, the country‘s Foreign Secretary David Lammy said on November 25. This decision was made after a meeting of G7 foreign ministers.
Lammy said that the UK will continue to support Ukraine with training and military assistance. He stated that this is the UK’s position and remains unchanged.
**France Discussing Troop Deployment**
The UK and France have been discussing deploying soldiers or private defense contractors to Ukraine, according to a French newspaper report. However, this idea has met opposition from Germany.
French President Emmanuel Macron suggested sending military trainers to Ukraine earlier. The proposal was brought up during British Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s visit to France on November 11.
**G7 Foreign Ministers Meet**
The G7 foreign ministers were meeting in Italy while the defense ministers of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Poland met in Berlin. They discussed increasing defense spending and supporting Ukraine.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius pledged to keep the Ukraine Defense Contact Group “alive.” British Defense Minister John Healey said that Europe must double its support for Kyiv.
