**Ukraine President’s Vision for Stopping Russo-Ukraine War**
Former Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko believes that the war between Ukraine and Russia can be stopped quickly. He made this statement in an interview with Voice of America.
Poroshenko thinks that for this to happen, Ukraine needs to be invited into NATO as soon as Donald Trump takes office. He stated that Russian President Putin is not ready to end the war, so “we must make tremendous efforts to prepare Putin for these negotiations.”
**Talking Tough**
Poroshenko suggested using force against Russia by responding with 3,000 Shahed drones per month targeting Russian infrastructure after being attacked by over 2,000 such drones every month. He also proposed crippling Russian sanctions that would reduce exports from $600 billion to $200 billion.
**Terms for Negotiations**
Poroshenko outlined five key points that he believes should be part of any negotiations:
* Ukraine will never again be part of Russia.
* Ukraine’s territorial integrity must be preserved.
* The country’s military capacity to defend itself must be maintained.
* Sanctions against Russia must remain in place to weaken the country and prevent future attacks.
* Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic future, including becoming a member of NATO, is non-negotiable.
Poroshenko expressed optimism about Trump‘s potential peace push. However, he did not elaborate on how this plan would be feasible.
**Trump’s Peace Plan**
Media reports suggest that Trump’s peace proposal may include territorial concessions to Russia without officially recognizing them as part of Russia. It also proposes a 20-year delay for Ukraine to join NATO.
