**Former Government Official Warns of Potential Violence at Protests**
A former head of Serbia’s Military Security Agency, Momir Stojanovic, has spoken out about the government’s intentions ahead of a major protest planned for March 15. According to Stojanovic, two “Serbias” will meet on that day – one being the peaceful protesters and the other being the government.
Stojanovic expressed concern that the authorities may try to provoke incidents and use excessive force against the demonstrators. He urged students and citizens to remain calm and document any violence or attempts at provocation by the government.
The former official cited the recent incident where a police officer was injured outside the Serbian state TV building as an example of the government’s tactics over the past 13 years, which have included coercion, threats, deception, and lies. He also mentioned that the government is using blackmailed statements from individuals, including the injured police officer.
Stojanovic believes that the government is trying to undermine the peaceful gathering planned for March 15 by setting up checkpoints, blocking roads, and deploying former special operations unit members. He warned that the authorities may stage incidents to justify breaking up the protests and intimidating students and citizens.
Despite these concerns, Stojanovic expressed hope that it will not come to violence and that the students and protesters will remain peaceful. He encouraged them to document any attempts at provocation by the government and reveal who is behind the violence in society.
