This includes 12 self-propelled Caesar howitzers which will enhance Ukraine’s artillery capability in the ongoing conflict with Russia. The announcement comes at a time when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is seeking strong allied support against Russian aggressory. Zelenskyy presented his victory plan for Ukraine to Western allies in order to strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating power. Defense Minister Sebastien lecornu explained that the funds will be recovered by the end of 2024 and will finance not only Caesar howitzers, but also other crucial military hardware, such as 155mm Shells, Aster Missiles, AASM Guided Bombs, Mistral missile systems. This contribution builds on France’s existing support. The Defense Ministry confirmed that 60 Caesar howitzers had already been delivered to Ukraine.
