**Freedom Square Becomes a Political Party**
The Freedom Square movement has changed its status to a political party. This was announced at the party congress on March 8.
**Background**
The movement was founded in 2024, just before the October 26 elections. It ran under the Strong Georgia coalition. Now, it will operate as an independent force.
**New Status**
“We were part of an electoral coalition and we’re proud of that…Now we continue our development independently,” said Levan Tsutskiridze, the party’s leader. He is also the founder of the original movement.
**Main Issues**
The party’s main concerns are justice, security, and freedom. Simon Janashia, a party leader, said these issues will be at the center of their work.
**Justice**
Janashia emphasized the need for laws that serve the public good, not just powerful individuals. He also stressed the importance of independent institutions like police, prosecutors, and judges.
**Security**
Janashia talked about strengthening national and individual security. He said social security is key to this goal.
**Freedom**
Janashia explained that freedom should mean more than just being free from rules. It’s about creating conditions for people to live better lives. This includes economic, cultural, and spiritual freedom.
