Freedom Square to Miss Out on Budgetary Funding
The political movement Freedom Square, which is part of the Strong Georgia coalition, will not receive budgetary funding. This was announced by Freedom Square in response to information about parties receiving state-funded party support.
In a press release, Freedom Square stated that their main focus should now be on changes in foreign policy and public protests. They emphasized the importance of unity among pro–Western parties in the fight for freedom and democracy.
Freedom Square did not agree to receive budgetary funding as part of their coalition agreement with Strong Georgia. However, they welcome any support directed towards victims of recent protests.
It’s clear that no opposition coalition has accepted the results of the elections. Freedom Square is pleased that their position on the illegitimacy of the elections and parliament remains unchanged.
Now, Freedom Square believes it’s time to focus on foreign policy changes and growing public protest in Georgia. This will be a foundation for maintaining political and civil unity within the country, calling for new elections, and restoring justice.
