**France Stops Visa-Free Travel for Georgian Officials**
The French government has taken action against the Georgian government. France’s Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, says he is suspending visa-free travel for Georgian diplomats and officials.
This decision comes as there have been problems with freedom of speech and democracy in Georgia. Many people in Georgia want their country to be more like Europe, with greater freedom and democracy. But some Georgian officials have been treating protesters, journalists, and people from civil society groups unfairly.
Minister Barrot says that the Georgian people’s desire for a democratic and free society should be heard. He is urging Georgian officials to stop repressing those who are expressing their views.
