**Vaccination to Continue in Multi-Profile Clinics**
The Georgian government has decided to continue the COVID-19 vaccination process, but only at multi-profile clinics. This decision was made after a recent case of anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction, occurred during a vaccination.
**Safety First**
Health Deputy Minister Tamar Gabunia explained that the main reason for this change is the availability of resuscitation departments in multi-profile clinics. She said that medical staff will redistribute bookings from outpatient facilities to 40 multi-profile clinics.
**Anaphylactic Reactions Not Rare**
Gabunia noted that anaphylactic cases are reported in Georgia every year, with around 40-60 cases documented in statistics. Unfortunately, two deaths were reported last year. While the recent case was not directly linked to the COVID-19 vaccine, it has caused concern among the public.
**Vaccination Process Changes**
As a result of this decision, vaccinations will no longer be carried out at peripheral clinics in the Adjara region’s district-level facilities. Instead, patients will receive vaccinations at Batumi Republican Hospital, which has better resources to manage larger numbers of patients.
