Ivanishvili is not the right person to appeal to, so I will instead appeal to policemen to keep a Georgian from confronting a Georgian. Giorgi Gakharia is the leader of “Gakharia for Georgia”, and he announced this in a press conference, responding to the events at the rally yesterday.
He claimed that Bidzina, the honorary chairperson of Georgian Dream, had used illegitimate violence against peaceful protesters.
Gakharia calls upon the friends of Georgia to Washington, Brussels Paris, Berlin, and other places to take a united, clear position regarding the ongoing political processes taking place in Georgia. This will help to prevent civil strife and protect free, fair and competitive elections.
“Yesterday we saw unprovoked violence towards peaceful citizens, youth, women and students.
This was a blatant example of punitive violence intended to instill fear in the public.
This time, the traces of this unprovoked violent lead directly to Ivanishvili.
Ivanishvili used force against peaceful protesters.
Some of you might remind me of the 20th of June. I don’t have to be reminded.
On June 20th, I did not hide behind the police officers’ backs like these little boys. I did not abandon the youth at the Basiani protests. I stood between the people and the police in Pankisi.
I will continue to stand wherever my peace, European future, and prevention of civil confrontations require me to do so – in capitals of Europe or in Parliament, on the street.
It is no longer logical to appeal to Ivanishvili.

You pledged that you would serve the country and its citizens, not the party.
They will hide behind you, leaving you alone with your people and the future of your country.
You must not allow any confrontation between Georgians.
We call on Georgia’s strategic partners in Washington, Brussels and other cities to develop a joint position regarding the current political process in Georgia to avoid civil conflict and ensure fair, free and competitive elections. We need eachother. Join forces to bring Georgia back on the path of normal democratic growth.
Ivanishvili has already lost, whether he adopts Russian laws or not. On October 26, we will all formally return Georgia to the European family, he said.
