Gamkrelidze asks Georgian church for vaccination support

“I want to use this opportunity to remind the Holy Synod, and each priest, of their special role in the current situation. Vaccines and vaccinations saved millions of lives over the past 200 years. Vaccination has been scientifically proven. The Church and have always had an extremely synergic relationship. The Church has always relied on scientifically-proven facts. The positive effects of vaccinations have been scientifically proved and experienced by mankind.
“Please stand with us, doctors, in these difficult times. The people’s trust in you is often stronger than that of doctors. We ask for special cooperation during the vaccination process. As always, we are ready for any meeting. It is an honor to work with you and the Church. I am confident that we will achieve our desired outcome together,” said Gamkrelidze.
Archpriest Jagmaidze indirectly responded to the appeal on 17 March.
