Israel has been bombing and invading Gaza’s coastal territory for one year now, after Hamas launched an unprecedented cross-border against Israel on 7 October 2023.
Israel claims it is trying destroy the and ruling capabilities of the Islamists group, which has been control over Gaza since 2007. The war has had devastating effect on the people who live there.
This visual guide illustrates some of the drastic changes that have occurred in Gaza as a result of the war, which has ravaged the territory and killed more than 42,000 according to Hamas’ ministry.
Before the war, life in Gaza was difficult. For years, it was subject to an -Egyptian ban on entry and exit that both countries claimed was necessary for security.
According to the World nearly two-thirds (nearly two-thirds) of the population lived in poverty. Thousands lived in UN-run camps for refugees, but there were also hospitals, , and shops.
Asdaa City is one of Gaza’s largest amusement parks. It offers fun and relaxation to the two-million people who live in the Strip. Nearly half of these are children. The Strip is less than a tenth of Greater ‘s size.
