**Surgeon Describes Horrors of Gaza Conflict**
A surgeon who recently visited Gaza has given a shocking account of the conflict to UK lawmakers. Professor Nizam Mamode told MPs that he saw many civilians, including children, being targeted by drones.
Professor Mamode said that it was particularly disturbing when drones would descend after a bomb had been dropped, and then target people on the ground. He described seeing small pellets from the drones causing multiple injuries to patients, even killing some.
One patient, a seven-year-old boy, survived an attack but suffered severe internal damage. Professor Mamode said he found it heartbreaking to treat such young children with serious injuries.
The chair of the International Development Committee, Labour MP Sarah Champion, called the testimony “profound and deeply frightening”.
