**Floods and Cold Temperatures Take Their Toll**
Mohammed al-Halabi, a resident of Deir al-Balah, described the devastating effects of the sea on his community’s flimsy homes. “The sea took it all,” he said. Many people have fallen ill due to the cold temperatures, while floods of rainwater and sewage have caused widespread damage.
**Humanitarian Crisis Deepens**
UN officials warn that nearly 90% of Gaza’s population is now displaced, with many living in tents. The shortage of fuel, medicines, food, and shelter has reached catastrophic levels, according to UN reports. Long queues for charity are a common sight in central and southern Gaza, where most people live.
**Fuel and Food Shortages**
Aid entering Palestinian territory is at its lowest level in the last year. Israel blames aid agencies for distribution problems. However, humanitarian workers report that armed gangs are looting supplies delivered through Kerem Shalom, leading to a halt in UN deliveries.
