Two Palestinians began filming for the BBC just days after Israel launched its war in Gaza in October last year. Aya fled south to find safety while Khalid stayed in the north. The Hamas-run Health Ministry says that more than 42,000 Palestinians were killed in Gaza by Israeli military action. The attack comes after Hamas’s 7th October attacks on Israel, which killed about 1,200 people. Aya and Khalid are two of the four stories featured in a BBC World Service and Storyville documentaries Life and Death in Gaza. The film is part of a series of programmes on BBC Two, BBC Four and iPlayer to mark one year since the 7 October war between Israel Hamas.
