Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of Georgian Dream, claims that the Polish doctor may have taken Mikheil Saakashvili’s sample from the medical institution in an attempt to forge and manipulate.
Kobakhidze claims that the Polish authorities should “explain themselves.”
“The only reason is fraud.” I am not an expert, but from a non-expert’s point of view I think that the only reason to use samples that one of these doctors secretly took may be to falsify them. In this case, we must hear from the Polish authorities. As far as I am aware, it was the Polish authorities who brought these doctors to Georgia. They will have to give an official explanation as to what happened and why. This situation requires a serious investigation. We can clearly see there was a manipulation attempt. “I don’t know if these samples could be used for anything else,” he said.
The Special Penitentiary Service released today a statement as well as footage about the visit by Polish doctors to the third president in Georgia.
According to the statement there was an “inexplicable” incident during the visit by one of the Polish doctors who wrapped a test sample taken from Mikheil Sakaashvili in a piece of paper and tried sneaking it out in his shoes.
The agency explains that they were already granted the right by the Service to remove a sample taken on an official basis. Therefore, the said action is “inconsistent with medical ethical and legal standards“.
