**Government Shakeup: New Faces at Regional Development and State Security Service**
In a surprising turn of events, the Georgian Dream (GD) government has changed its mind about who should lead the Ministry of Regional Development. Just two days ago, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that Grigol Liluashvili would be heading up the ministry, but now Kakhaber Guledani will take on the role instead.
This sudden change raises questions about the government’s decision-making process and why Liluashvili was chosen in the first place. It seems that Kobakhidze had a change of heart after speaking with Liluashvili, concluding that he wasn’t the right fit for the job. Guledani, on the other hand, has relevant experience working in regional development and infrastructure from 2016-2017, as well as serving as Tbilisi’s Deputy Mayor.
**Who is Kakhaber Guledani?**
Guledani’s appointment to the Ministry of Regional Development brings a new face to the government. With his background in regional development and local politics, he may bring a fresh perspective to the role. However, it remains to be seen how effective he will be in leading the ministry.
Meanwhile, changes are also underway at the State Security Service, with Grigol Liluashvili being replaced by Anri Okhanashvili. Okhanashvili has a strong background in law, having previously served as Minister of Justice and working on the Legal Issues Committee in Parliament. His experience may serve him well in his new role.
