**Georgian Foreign Minister Visits Turkey**
February 26, 2025 – Georgian Dream (GD) Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili visited Turkey and met with her Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic partnership.
**Economic Cooperation Key Focus**
The meeting focused on economic cooperation between the two countries. Both sides recognized Turkey as Georgia’s leading trading partner and discussed ways to maximize existing economic potential. They emphasized the importance of deepening trade engagement.
**Regional Cooperation**
The parties also discussed regional issues, including ongoing security challenges in the South Caucasus. Botchorishvili reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to contributing to efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Regional cooperation in transport and energy was another focus of the discussions.
**Infrastructure Projects**
The discussion highlighted the role of major infrastructure projects, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor, in strengthening regional integration within the framework of the “Middle Corridor” concept.
