**Georgian Prime Minister Visits Uzbekistan**
On March 4, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and a delegation from the Georgian Dream (GD) government arrived in Uzbekistan. During his visit, Kobakhidze met with top officials from the country.
**Cooperation between Georgia and Uzbekistan**
Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the development of the Middle Corridor, a trade route that connects Europe and Asia. He also highlighted opportunities for collaboration in education, science, sport, and culture.
The 10th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Uzbekistan will be held in Tashkent.
**Meetings with Officials**
Kobakhidze met with:
* Speaker of the Legislative Chamber Nuriddin Ismoilov
* Chair of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva
* Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov
At these meetings, the parties discussed ways to strengthen intergovernmental and interparliamentary cooperation.
**Deepening Trade Relations**
Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s commitment to deepening trade relations with Uzbekistan. He highlighted the country’s liberal economic policies and its role as a regional transit hub.
The sides also discussed opportunities for investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.
**Uzbek Commitment**
Abdulla Aripov reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to close cooperation with Georgia. He emphasized growing trade and joint projects between the two countries.
**Foreign Affairs Minister‘s Meeting**
GD Foreign Affairs Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with her Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov to discuss deepening cooperation between the two nations. The talks focused on enhancing trade and economic ties, as well as exploring opportunities for collaboration in culture, education, science, and sports.
