**Sound Cannons Used in Belgrade Protest?**
A company called Genasys makes sound cannons used by the Serbian police. They said that videos and audio recordings from a protest on March 15 don‘t show their device being used.
**Experts Disagree**
However, another group called Earshot found evidence that sound weapons were used against protesters. They analyzed four recordings from the scene and determined that the noise was made by a Vortex Ring Gun or Vortex Cannon.
**What’s the Difference?**
Genasys said that Earshot experts looked at 12 video documents, some of which were shared by citizens who recorded the protest. The company noted that Earshot is an organization that studies sound materials to protect human rights and the environment.
**The Sound of Fear**
Earshot reported that the Vortex Cannon creates a howling noise compared to a jet engine and vortex rings that can cause electromagnetic interference with devices like hearing aids. This caused witnesses at the protest to panic.
**No Further Comments**
Genasys said they have no further comments on the incident in Belgrade for now, citing reports from Earshot and another group called CRTA.
