**Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Army Command Post**
On January 10, Ukrainian forces hit a Russian army command post in Svitlodarsk, Donetsk Oblast. The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported the “successful hit” on Facebook.
The target was Russia’s 3rd Army Corps. Svitlodarsk is around 30 kilometers southeast of Bakhmut and has been occupied by Russian forces since May 2022. The Ukrainian military did not specify what weapon was used or the extent of the damage.
**Series of Strikes in Donetsk Region**
This is the second reported strike this week, following a precision strike against a command post of Russia’s 8th Combined Arms Army in Khartsyzk on January 8. Other similar attacks were also reported earlier this week, including strikes in Kursk Oblast and Saratov Oblast.
**Global Response to Russian Actions**
The US is taking action against Russia’s key source of revenue for funding its war against Ukraine, said Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The US is imposing sweeping measures on individuals and entities from Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Turkey, and North Korea.
**Russia’s Humanitarian Crisis**
Russian forces have established nearly 30 torture chambers in Kharkiv Oblast since 2022. The Ukrainian military has announced a long-range attack against a Russian oil depot that provided fuel to a nearby airbase.
