Russia’s Losses in Ukraine
Russia has lost a large number of troops and military equipment since its invasion of Ukraine started on February 24, 2022. The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that Russia had lost 818,740 troops by January 19.
These losses include 1,580 Russian soldiers who were injured or killed in the past day alone. This number is part of a larger trend of significant losses for Russia.
According to a report from the General Staff, Russia has also lost a large amount of military equipment. This includes 9,811 tanks, 20,412 armored vehicles, and 34,401 other vehicles and fuel tanks. Russia’s artillery systems are also being heavily used up, with over 22,000 systems lost. In addition, Russia has lost 1,262 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,046 air defense systems, and several aircraft and helicopters.
Russia’s losses in Ukraine have been significant. The country has lost a large number of troops and military equipment, including tanks, vehicles, and artillery systems.
