**Russia Loses 825,000 Troops in Ukraine**
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been going on for over a year. The Ukrainian military reports that Russia has lost 825,320 troops since February 24, 2022. This number includes 1,340 casualties from just the past day.
The losses are not limited to soldiers. Russia has also lost many vehicles and equipment. These include:
* 9,850 tanks
* 20,497 armored fighting vehicles
* 34,905 vehicles and fuel tanks
* 22,256 artillery systems
* 1,262 multiple launch rocket systems
* 1,050 air defense systems
* 369 airplanes
* 331 helicopters
* 23,111 drones
* 28 ships and boats
* 1 submarine
**Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Targets**
Ukrainian forces have been attacking Russian targets. On January 26, they struck drone storage facilities in Russia’s Oryol Oblast.
There has also been damage to a Latvian underwater fiber optic cable. This was reportedly caused by external impact on January 26.
**US Aid Agency Stops Projects in Ukraine**
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has been told to stop projects in Ukraine. This is due to a 90-day foreign aid freeze imposed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
However, senior diplomats have requested a full waiver to exclude USAID operations from the freeze.
