**Russia’s Losses in Ukraine: 864,860 Troops and Counting**
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has lost a significant number of troops in Ukraine. According to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia has lost 864,860 troops. This includes 1,280 casualties just over the past day.
**Russia’s Military Hardware also Suffered Heavy Losses**
Russia’s military equipment is also taking a hit. The country has lost:
* 10,146 tanks
* 23,462 armored fighting vehicles
* 38,104 vehicles and fuel tanks
* 23,462 artillery systems
* 1,295 multiple launch rocket systems
* 1,080 air defense systems
* 370 airplanes
* 331 helicopters
* 26,156 drones
* 28 ships and boats
* 1 submarine
**International Community Responds to Ukraine Situation**
The international community is responding to the situation in Ukraine. European leaders met for informal talks to discuss joint defense capabilities and autonomy from the US. China said it’s willing to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis. The EU was urged to fund Ukraine with frozen Russian assets, strengthen borders, and boost defense spending.
**Ukraine Looks to Negotiate End to War**
President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg to discuss ending the war. Zelensky said a meeting that restores hope is needed, along with strong agreements with America. The UK accused Russia of engaging in “Tsarist imperialism” and failing to learn from historical colonial wars.
**US Rhetoric Shifts**
The US has shifted its rhetoric on Ukraine. A White House official said the US is negotiating with Russia over minerals. However, concerns remain about what concessions President Donald Trump might consider to secure a deal on ending the war.
