Since February 24, 2022, Russia has lost a staggering 801,670 troops in Ukraine. This is according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, which reported on January 8 that Russian forces also suffered 1,660 casualties just over the past day.

In addition to the thousands of soldiers lost, Russia has also suffered significant losses in equipment and infrastructure. The report states that Russia has lost:

* 20,205 armored fighting vehicles
* 33,307 vehicles and fuel tanks
* 21,729 artillery systems
* 1,260 multiple launch rocket systems
* 1,038 air defense systems
* 369 airplanes
* 331 helicopters
* 21,727 drones
* 28 ships and boats
* One submarine
**Zelensky Strengthens Ukraine’s Terror List**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a bill strengthening the process for forming and designating groups and organizations to Ukraine’s terror list. This move is aimed at combating terrorism and extremism.
**Fire Engulfs Oil Depot in Russia**
A large fire engulfed an oil depot overnight on January 8 in the city of Engels in Saratov Oblast, according to Russian Telegram media channels.
**Upcoming Aid Package for Ukraine**
The upcoming aid package for Ukraine, scheduled to be announced on January 9, will draw from existing stockpiles with the intent of delivering most of the pledged weapons to Ukraine before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
