Russian Forces Attack Kurakhove‘s Outskirts
Russian troops are launching a strong attack on the southeastern part of Kurakhove. They want to take control of important buildings and roads.
The Ukrainian military says Russian forces are trying to capture a road junction and a residential area in the city’s south. They also aim to take key administrative and industrial facilities in the center of the city.
Russian troops are using different tactics, such as sending groups to gather information and hiding behind civilian clothes to get close to Ukrainian positions.
The situation around Kurakhove is difficult, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He was told this by Ukraine‘s top military commander, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Kurakhove has been under pressure from Russian forces since November 27. They are slowly taking control of the city’s central area. A photo shows a Russian flag on the city council building, showing how far they have advanced.
