**Ukraine Hits Russian Command Post**
On February 3, Ukraine’s Air Force launched a “precision strike” on a Russian command post in the village of Novoivanovka. The target was reportedly used to coordinate Russian troops’ attacks against Ukrainian forces.
The attack is part of Ukraine’s strategy to weaken Russia‘s military capabilities by targeting key command centers. This is not the first time Ukraine has targeted Russian command posts. In January, Ukrainian forces struck another command post in the city of Rylsk.
**Background**
Ukraine launched a limited incursion into Russia’s Kursk Oblast on August 6. While they initially captured around 1,300 square kilometers of Russian territory, they have since lost about half of that land. Fighting continues in the region.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported the strike, but The Kyiv Independent could not verify these claims.
