George Sharashidze of the party “For Georgia” of former PM Gakharia, wrote on social media that IRI research confirmed the ratings of all parties are decreasing, but the rating for ‘For Georgia is increasing.
“What conclusions can we draw from the IRI study?” he asks.

2. The party “For Georgia” is the party that has the highest “second preference” with 9%. At this stage, the parties in first and second places have almost exhausted their growth potential. This clearly indicates that the party For Georgia will be able to double its current result and surpass the 20% limit at the October election without any problem, and even change the government at the early parliamentary polls!
3. Gakharia maintains a high rating. Even a few months following his resignation, a large part of the public still views him positively. The ruling party’s assessment that Gakharia’s rating was conditioned on the party’s rating is not justified.
4. The real reason that the ruling party annulled the Charles Michel Agreement has been confirmed. This is the fall from 35% to 28% in April. This confirms a permanent decrease in support for the ruling parties by the population.
5. The situational alliance between the governing party and the National Movement’ to cancel the Charles Michel agreement was confirmed because its rating has dropped from 18 to 15 percent.
6. It has been confirmed the ratings of nearly all parties have decreased, yet the support for ‘For Georgia” is increasing. This is not surprising, given that 97% of the respondents to the survey rated polarization negatively. Both the ruling power and opposition are doing exactly the opposite.
7. The majority of the population (61%), is dissatisfied with current political forces and expects change. 75% plan to vote and participate in the elections. This confirms once again that change will come to Georgia!
“The challenge has been accepted!” We can. “We will change!” Sharashidze wrote.
According to a new poll conducted by the International Republican Institute, 26% of respondents said they would vote for the Georgian Dream party, 14% for United National Movement, and 9% for the former PM Giorgi Gakharia’s party, if elections were held this week.
The poll results also show that former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has a high rating for his personal qualities. He is acceptable to 56% of respondents.
IRI states that data was collected in Georgia between June 15, 2021 and June 30, 2021 through face-toface interviews at respondents’ homes.
The sample consisted 1,500 permanent Georgian residents who were 18 years old and eligible to vote. This is representative of the population in terms of age, gender and region. The margin of error is not more than plus or minus 2,5%. The response rate was 74%.
