“Historical Day for Georgia and Our Tourism Industry – Georgia has Been Elected as a Member of the UNWTO Executive Council For the 2021-2025 Period,” – Deputy Economics Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili
Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy for Georgia, announced today, June 3 that Georgia had been elected to the UNWTO Executive Council. She called it a “historic day for Georgia and its Tourism Industry.”
“Through elections, against the backdrop of intense competition with other nations, by a large majority of votes, I was elected a member to the Executive Board of UN World Tourism Organization.
“As a member of the UNWTO, Georgia will have the opportunity to participate in UNWTO projects and initiatives, and will most importantly contribute to the global tourism recovery process.
Kvrivishvili said, “We are grateful to all of our European partners who have shown their support and confidence in Georgia.”
