Georgian Ambassador to Lithuania Quits
Georgia’s ambassador to Lithuania has quit her job. Salome Shapakidze said she was leaving on November 30.
She wrote on Twitter that it was an honor to serve Georgia for over a decade. She wanted to help the country remain independent and join European groups.
This is not the first resignation related to Georgia’s foreign policy. The government recently announced it would stop trying to join Europe. This move led to other diplomats quitting their jobs, including those in Bulgaria, the Netherlands, and Italy.
