The US Embassy in Georgia is concerned about the actions of the “Georgian Dream” government that may jeopardize their partnership. Recently, a diagram was shared on social media by the NGO ISFED, showing the results of the 2020 parliamentary elections. However, the NGO later corrected their own data, stating that the ruling party received an additional 1.8% of the votes.
In response to the ruling party‘s false accusations that ISFED attempted a coup d’état in 2020, the NGO’s data actually confirmed the victory of “Georgian Dream” from the beginning. The US Embassy questions why the ruling party is risking their partnership with the USA over just 1.8% of the votes. It is important for the “Georgian Dream” government to maintain a strong partnership with the USA for the benefit of both countries.
