**Georgian PM Visits Azerbaijan**
On January 17, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze visited Azerbaijan with a delegation. He met with President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
**Important Meetings**
Kobakhidze had one-on-one meetings with both leaders. He stressed the importance of cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan for regional security and stability. He also thanked Azerbaijan for its support for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
President Aliyev praised the “exemplary political relations” between the two countries, saying they serve as a model for neighbors to live together. He also praised the Georgian Dream government’s economic policies, saying they have attracted significant investments from Azerbaijan.
**Economic Cooperation**
The two leaders discussed ways to expand trade and economic cooperation. Kobakhidze said that Azerbaijan has been one of Georgia’s top trading partners in recent years. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of energy security and independence, citing projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
**Intergovernmental Commission**
The Georgian delegation took part in the 10th session of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. Kobakhidze advocated for regional trilateral cooperation among South Caucasus countries, including Armenia.
**Other Meetings**
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on January 16. The two ministers hailed the strategic partnership between their countries and emphasized their shared commitment to peace and stability in the region.
