Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, will attend the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku (Azerbaijan) from November 11-13.
The Georgian government announced the leaders of the conference will be UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.
“During his visit in Baku, the Georgian prime minister will meet with the President of Azerbaijan.” Irakli Kobakhidze will speak at the COP29 Leaders’ Summit, and take part in roundtable discussions on different topics,” reads the statement.
The focus of COP29 is the impact of climate changes on human and economic aspects of daily life. Leaders will discuss the essential steps required to reduce emissions and mitigate the severe effects caused by global warming.
A delegation led by Levan Zhorzholiani, head of Government Administration, will join Prime Minister Kobakhidze. The delegation includes Ilia Darchiashvili and Levan Davitashvili.
