Davit Tserediani was hailed as a “great translation” and contributed to bringing German and French poetry to Georgian audiences as well as promoting Georgian Culture internationally. Tserediani’s honors include the Shota Rustaveli, Ilia Chavchavadze, and Saba Awards for Lifetime Contribution in Georgian Literature. He also received the Givi Margvelashvili German-Georgian Culture Award and the Vazha-Pshavela Prize posthumously. Since 1981, his translations have included renowned authors such as the Brothers Grimm and Goethe. Heine, Rilke and Celan are also included.
