**Georgia‘s External Merchandise Trade Increases by 5.5%**
The National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat) has published data showing that the country’s external merchandise trade increased by 5.5% in January–October 2024 compared to the same period last year.
According to Geostat, exports from Georgia rose by 7.4% and reached USD 5.468 billion. Imports also went up, increasing by 4.8% to reach USD 13.554 billion. The trade deficit was USD 8.086 billion, making up 42.5% of the overall trade turnover.
The detailed data on external merchandise trade will be published later this month, on November 11, 2024.
This news comes after previous reports showing an increase in Georgia’s foreign trade, including a 3.7% rise in January-September 2024 and a 1.6% increase in January-July 2024.
