**Georgia‘s Economy Grows by 11%**
The economy of Georgia grew by 11% in the third quarter of this year. This was reported by Geostat, the country’s statistics office.
According to Geostat, the construction industry led the growth with a 30.9% increase. Other industries that saw significant growth include information and communication (32.8%), education (35.6%), financial and insurance activities (22.9%), and public administration and defence (14.7%).
However, some industries did not do as well. The real estate industry shrank by 4.9%, while the electricity and gas supply sector declined by 13.6%.
The growth in Georgia’s economy is worth around GEL 24.856 billion (USD 8.846 billion). This is according to Geostat’s preliminary data, which was released on December 19.
