Germany May Vote on Giving Ukraine Missiles
The German parliament may hold a vote to give Ukraine some special missiles. This is because the current government does not want to send them.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been against sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine. But now, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) wants to make it a big issue in parliament. They think money alone is not enough to help Ukraine.
The FDP’s leader in parliament, Christian Dürr, said that Ukraine needs more than just money right now. He thinks they should be given Taurus cruise missiles. This would be a big step for Germany to take.
If the vote happens, it will show how many people in Germany want to help Ukraine with these special missiles.
