Germany’s Top Diplomat Warns of Undersea Threats
Germany‘s Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, is warning about serious threats to underwater infrastructure. She wants stronger protection and sanctions against Russia’s secret fleet.
Baerbock says Russia uses its ships to get around EU and G7 sanctions. These ships are old and often hide the true origin of their oil cargo by moving it between tankers.
The Baltic Sea has seen damage to undersea cables, which is a big concern for Baerbock. She thinks Russia should face new sanctions because of this.
